Customize Your Truck for a Fraction of the Cost
By: Courtesy of ARA Content

What you drive says a lot about you. Are you sporty? High style? Do you have a special something that makes you stand out from the crowd? Custom features for your car or truck can reflect your unique personality and add a great look.

While many people wish they could liven up their ride with customization, the cost of these embellishments can run into the thousands, and often require time-consuming trips to the body shop. But there’s another way to get the look you want at a reasonable price, and often you can install it yourself. Many automotive retail centers stock products you can install yourself. Try decals -- anything from basic racing stripes to intricate patterns of flames -- that mimic the look of a custom airbrush job. Window-tint kits provide sun protection and an air of mystery on the road. Lund International, the leading manufacturer of vehicle appearance accessories, offers an extensive array of products to give any car or truck a custom look, without the custom price.

New this year is the truck cowl induction hood scoop. Do-it-yourselfers and truck enthusiasts can now transform a stock hood into a simulated performance hood with one easy step. “Owners can create the exact look they want in just minutes,” says Lund’s Jodi Moulzolf. “Enjoy driving your truck instead of waiting for it to come back from the body shop.”

Installation is easy, thanks to concealed 3M adhesive tape. Simply measure and place the scoop -- no drilling. The adhesive provides a flush, seamless bond without messy epoxies or glues. And now drivers have two choices of finishes: A paint-to-match option, or the new “carbon fiber look.” Both are constructed of durable, heat resistant, high impact ABS material for years of use.

In addition to the truck cowl induction scoop, Lund offers a range of hood scoop styles to fit any car, truck or SUV -- whether you want single or pair, large or small. “Additions like hood scoops let your car or truck reflect your lifestyle,” says Moulzolf. “It’s a great way to express your personality.”
